Sep 30, 2005· to add a little bit to rklopp's notes, you do have to grind the top of conventional bevel edge & "dogbone" section parting tools. Grind flat to just clean up the top bevel if the parting will be deep. But there is nothing wrong with grinding a slight back bevel for about 1/2" or so on top of the tool, maybe upt to 3/4".
